The album was written and recorded during various trips to the shed between 1999 and 2001. The songs were inspired by the usual mixture of love, betrayal and eating disorders and bear no relation any person living or dead. The following list of instruments and equipment used in it's construction is included because it's the sort of thing I like to read on an album sleeve, and consider yourselves lucky, I could have included some of my childrens poetry and a picture of my dog*.
1 Fylde Orsino12 string acoustic guitar, 1 1988 American Fender Telecaster, 1 Harmony Mandolin, 1 Harmony “Roy Smeck” 5 string banjo, I 1995 Japanese Fender Precision bass, 1 1972 Sound City Concord 2x12 valve combo, 1 Ajax bass drum, John Grey and Pearl snare drums, Pearl Hi Hats on some sort of Korean stand, I Meinl tambourine, 2 cymbals of unknown provenance, a rezo, cabasa, stirrup, small green tambourine and shakers of uncertain origin, 1 32 bass Worldmaster Accordion, 1 Stentor viola, 1 Hohner blues harp, 1 Roland VS880, 1 Rode NT1 Microphone, 1 Shure SM57 Microphone, 1 Joemeek VC3Q and 1 Peavey T60 guitar .The Album was produced by Frank Finighan and mastered by Rob Brown. Jim Kitson played all the instruments and did all the singing except on 'Keep Saying it' and 'The Omega Man which feature Pete Peverley on the aforementioned Peavey T60 guitar, a Yamaha tonebooster pedal, a Korg Pandora and backing vocals.
